Ukraine plane downed

On January 8, 2020, news broke of the crash of the Boeing 737-800 flight 752 when leaving Tehran headed to Kiev. The flight never made it.

The plane fell to the ground early in the morning, leading to the deaths of all 176 people on board.

Initially, Iranian officials deemed the crash to be a manufacturing mistake or problems with some of the systems used. Officials were searching for the plane’s Black Box.

When the Black Box, or plane’s recording device, was found Iranian officials would not release the recordings to other nations involved such as Canada and Ukraine.

On January 14, several arrests were made by Iranian officials in relation to the crash.

As of January 21, Iran has admitted to firing two missiles at the passenger plane, resulting in its demise.
