Following all the devastation during this year’s Holy Week, a culminating tragedy occurred on Easter morning when approximately 290 people were killed and another 500 injured in a series of terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka.

Today, people are focusing on recovering bodies and identifying the victims of the attacks.

Six suicide-bombers were involved and 24 people have already been arrested, according to a live update posted by CNN.

Sri Lankan Economic Reforms Minister, Harsha de Silva, said their government received warnings of terrorism days before the attacks occurred.

“[The Sri Lankan government] did receive information from overseas that something terrible was to happen,” said de Silva.

The people of Sri Lanka are devastated by these acts of terrorism, and they are going to be recovering for a very long time to come.
