Life advice from senior citizens

Michelle Grant, Staff Reporter

Everyone needs some insightful advice from time to time. There is no one better to get advice from than from a pair of wonderful grandparents. Keep reading for some wise words of wisdom from Doug and Yolanda Hartman.

Q: If you could go back in time and change anything about your life, would you?
Yolanda: “Not really, I wouldn’t, because you learn. Every part of your life that you have lived up to at each point, you learn from it and grew from it.”

Q: What are some of the most important lessons you have learned throughout your life?
Yolanda: “I think to live and be happy with whatever life gives you at that point. Be happy with it because there is always tomorrow. If you make a mistake, there is always tomorrow to make it better.”
Doug: “You can’t undo yesterday, but you can make it better.”

Q: What would you say you know now about living a happy life that you did not when you were 20?
Yolanda: “What would have brought you happiness back then is different from the happiness you get now. In my 20’s something that brought me happiness was, woo hoo! I’m gonna go party!”
