The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part is the newest addition to the new trend in “Lego” based movies. Although it struggles to live up to the pure wonder of the original, it still has enough redeemable qualities of its own to be a fun ride.
The stand-out performances are without a doubt the inclusion of both Chris Pratt and Will Arnett as Emmet and Lego Batman; respectively. They clearly have fun with the script and are genuinely entertaining.
The collective cast is incredibly humorous and provide comedic value for both children and adults alike. Not only that, but a group of tennis-playing velociraptors is sure to put a smile on many faces.
However, the film struggles to find its overarching theme in its many ambitions. It tries to have the same raw sentimental value of the original film, so falls short in that regard.
The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part is incredibly entertaining overall and is a complete feast for the eyes that serves as a decent enough sequel.
