5G Smartphones

5G is closer than ever. Motorola released the first 5G capable phone in August of 2018 (though 5G wasn’t natively supported, it came through an add-on that Motorola released later on) and other smartphone companies have been following closely. In 2019, Samsung, LG, Huawei, OnePlus, and Nokia are all preparing to release 5G capable phones. 5G networks allow for data transfer speeds that are up to 20 times faster than modern 4G LTE networks. This means that you can load websites, images, and videos faster along with watching videos at a higher resolution. The first phone to natively support 5G should release around March of 2019.

HTC Vive Cosmos

Virtual Reality is a phenomenon that has swept the tech community in recent years. The HTC Vive Cosmos aims to bring VR to a wider audience. The Vive Cosmos is much simpler than HTC’s other model releasing this year, the Vive Pro Eye. The Vive Cosmos is likely much cheaper than the Pro Eye. The Cosmos operates by being connected to a personal computer and using a handheld controller to control your gameplay. The HTC Vive Cosmos does not have a defined release date or price, but HTC has said that it will be released in 2019.
